Fit-out questions, answered

Plan your space with clarity.

What is the difference between fit-outs and shopfitting?

Commercial fit-outs is the broader term for preparing business interiors, including offices, shops, hospitality and consulting spaces. Shopfitting focuses on retail environments, such as counters, displays and customer-facing finishes. Tell us the type of business and tenancy you have in mind.

Can I enquire before signing a lease?

Yes. Share the proposed tenancy, available plans and intended use. Early discussion can identify information, specialist advice and landlord requirements to investigate before finalising your project scope.

Do I need completed drawings?

No. You can begin with a concept, tenancy plan or business brief. If you have designer drawings, a brand manual, equipment schedules or a tender package, mention these when you enquire.

Who handles landlord requirements and approvals?

Responsibilities depend on the tenancy and agreed scope. Discuss landlord conditions, centre guidelines, building requirements and consultant input early so the necessary approvals and responsibilities can be clearly identified.

Can a fit-out be staged around trading?

Tell us whether the space or neighbouring tenancies will remain occupied. Access, noise, deliveries, shutdowns and staging need to be assessed before a workable programme can be agreed.

How much will my fit-out cost and how long will it take?

A reliable proposal requires a defined scope and review of the tenancy, services, equipment, finishes, approvals and access. Share your budget expectations and target opening date so the team can discuss what needs to be assessed.

Can you review a franchise brief or make-good scope?

Share the relevant brand standards, nominated supplier requirements or lease make-good schedule. The team can review the project information and discuss an appropriate next step for your tenancy.

What should I include in my enquiry?

Include your business type, suburb, tenancy size, lease stage, available drawings and target opening or handback date. Select Fit-Outs if available on the form, or write your fit-out category in the project details.
